About Our Business Recovery and Insolvency Services

At Poppleton & Appleby, as Insolvency Practitioners and Business Recovery Specialists, we offer expert advice to businesses and individuals in financial difficulties, often working alongside a client’s existing professional advisers. We cover the whole of the Midlands from our offices in Birmingham.

We provide clear, practical, professional advice informed by our commercial awareness and industry knowledge. Our Partners and Insolvency Practitioners have experience with Big Four accountancy firms and began their careers as insolvency specialists and business advisers before becoming insolvency experts. This gives us a unique insight into what works and what doesn’t.

We understand the stresses involved and can help to bridge strained relationships with lenders, landlords, key suppliers and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Click on these links to see some of our testimonials and news.

By doing so, we can often create a breathing space in which to put together a successful recovery strategy, so that a business can be preserved through restructuring and refinancing.

Sometimes insolvency is the correct way forward. But with careful planning and transparency, a new business can often be set up, and go on to prosper, without the burden of the old company’s debts.

We also offer access to non-insolvency solutions, including funding, cash flow management or simply buying time from pressing creditors.

For many accountancy and legal firms, we are the first choice for recovery and insolvency services in the Midlands and beyond.

If you are a business facing financial difficulties, or one of your clients is, please contact our team of Insolvency Practitioners and Business Recovery Experts, or call us on  0121 200 2962, for an initial discussion.

    Our Charities

The good causes we support, featured below, play a special part in the lives of our partners and wider team.

Wherever possible, we also like to say yes when other charities ask for our support, to help them continue their important, and often life-changing, work.

    The Variety Club Golfing Society

    The Variety Club Golfing Society
Variety, the Children’s Charity, has been improving the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people since 1949.

In that time, it has raised more than £270 million and made a difference to the lives of more than one million children and young people.

In 2015, Poppleton & Appleby celebrated the 29th anniversary of its support and involvement in the charity’s work, through an association with the Variety Club Golf Society, which works to raise money to fund Variety’s iconic Sunshine Coaches.

We are proud to present the Firm’s 50th Sunshine Coach in 2015 to Rigby Hall School, Bromsgrove.  This milestone could not have been achieved without the support of our loyal work introducers, colleagues and friends from the Variety club.

Held annually at some of the UK’s finest golf courses, the golf event is supported by a galaxy of celebrities from show business and sport.

    GNO

The Gentlemen’s Night Out (GNO) is a Birmingham-based charity that raises and distributes funds to individuals and organisations that do not have the ability to raise funds for themselves and to those for whom a relatively small donation can produce a profound and lasting effect. The charity has raised more than £7 million to date, with all funds awarded, after appropriate investigation, to those who really need it most.A key feature of GNO is that all money raised goes directly to beneficiaries, with no deductions for administration or other overheads – so every penny raised or donated goes to worthwhile causes. For more information, please visitwww.thegentlemensnightout.co.uk.

    Ryan’s Story

Ryan had his operation on 19 January and is making tremendous progress; he has grown by 3 inches!

He has become a Jeremy Kyle fan, but his family are hopeful of an intervention to wean him off daytime TV programmes. He was discharged from hospital on 29 January and is making improvements every day.

It is fantastic to report that the funds are now in place for Ryan’s new and upgraded wheelchair and he is expected to return to school fulltime after the February half term break.
